#26: For the Stars & Thunder

By: M Monroe Casey

With CJ and Monica sitting on their plushy, comfy and usual Mt. Couch, holding hands with interlocked fingers all the while, they switched the Windowsill to the start of their second-to-last little project for now. It was mere “moments” after Lillie’s arc found its shocking conclusion with a nice and good old-fashioned “talking it out,” and before they hit play on this one dated from a few months later, they just wanted to spend a “second” or two highlighting what they just witnessed together.

“Woah… babe.”

“Yeah C?”

“Nah, that was just really nice, you know. I kind of felt like it was just gearing up for another epic showdown or something. Which is fun and all but I mean… we saw that over and over again with the whole Baleigh v Delanie then Marche v Brinay/ Doenca vibe.”

“Oh, I know. Totally refreshing sweetheart. So… what’s next?”

“Well, my wonderful Mon, we have two short projects to watch which should wrap up that ‘new’ Goddess storyline since we can only imagine what that ending in that Citadel meant. Which is………… we have totally have seven Goddesses now.”

“Wow… seven… It doesn’t seem too long ago that we had only five and Baleigh was still standing outside her decimated workshop, talking to you.”

“I know… so wild babe. So, shall we?”

“Always, my heart-fule,” responded Monica Dancer.

“I love you and I love when you call me that…”

Kissing her lifelong love with a calm and beautiful passion while their left-handed thumbs landed on the play button together, the two of them averted their gaze over then to their beloved Windowsill to see the casual events of the complete Goddess team in a meeting together.

Located in a base they constructed outside of Thunder Bay, Ontario on the shores of Lake Superior, they were going to sit around a dark stone round table and have what they all describe as an “all-to-important quick update and Cosmos gossip session.”

“Ummm… no, Lenna-Anna, we absolutely can NOT move part of our discretionary fund to help fund an Earthly enterprise.”

“But… Baleigh! It’s called a Meat Pocket. A. MEAT. POCKET,” retorted the twelve-year-old preteen.

“I already heard you and the answer is no. I don’t care if Tom Bradley has already brought his idea out of testing and it’s in the ‘seed capital’ stages. We simply can’t do that… Nathaly, can you back me up?” Answered the now young adult Star Goddess.

“No se… carne… pollo… y mas… it’s not a bad idea, Baleigh… Imagine… you want a taco and all you have to do is carry some shells in your purse then you just unzip a side pocket of your pants and boom. Está listo… loco… muy muy loco pero perfecto… you know?“

“Yes. I understand the concept and it’s fine if you want to personally invest but we can’t as a group. That’s all I’m saying… Delanie? Vittoria? Jessica? Lillie? Can any of you back me up on this? It’s crazy… right?”

“Hmmm… I think Baleigh is right, we can’t do that…” uttered back the quiet and newly admitted Lillie LaDestino.

“Surprise, surprise…. the two new ones would stick together… she is just sucking up to you because she thinks you are the leader. You think that you can defeat me in a fight just one time and we all have to listen to you…” grumbled back the tired and exhausted Delanie Evelyn. Her retro black chains refound and donned across her entire body. Recreating the mummy-like form that once hunted and attempted to destroy almost everyone else at that table. But this time around, it was her time to be in charge and thus, let her murderous vibes go down much much lower. Yet with all of that in mind, it didn’t deter any bit of the intimidation factor that those “midnight shaded accessories of doom” always have and always will possess.

“Hey Delanie… don’t say that. Plus, you know… you chose to give up when you were absolutely LOSING to me or did you forget that, in your old age?”

“OLD?!?!”

“MEAT POCKET FOR THE WIN!” Chimed in Lenna-Anna.

“Aye aye… enough! Stop this you two and Lenna-Anna, we get it. You like food… but please, we are trying to have a meeting. I need to work on a laboratory final paper after this.”

“Sorry, Vittoria…” shamefully muttered Baleigh, Delanie and Lenna-Anna or the three biggest offenders of the distraction then in unison.

“It’s fine. Okay, let’s get on with it. Jessica, what do you have to say in today’s meeting? Any new updates from the realm of Acting and all that?

“Honestly, no, I’m good. I’ve just been laying low lately after what happened in the Citadel… oh wait, nevermind! I just remembered something… So, I was thinking more about it lately and I think we could push to have the big game of the Cosmos renamed ‘Face’s Actors,’ since you know, it came from Unistan and all. Since Unistan is my homeland, I think it could go well with the themes of Characters, Concepts and Locations. What do you all think?”

Responding in favor with a group of synchronized “ayes,” the other six nodded along with it too.

“Excellent, honestly, I feel like the Cosmos might take up their old-fashioned wars or something eventually too but for now, I think it will be a good and perfect name for those who still use it and all. Alright, that’s all I got. Lenna-Anna?”

“Well… I’ve just been preparing for my first year of Middle School so you know, I have stress of my own right now. Soooooooo not fun. But in terms of my Goddess plans, I’ve just been working on removing the kinks from Furious Malice T4. So, we can work on reducing down earthquakes to some healthy and perfectly manageable levels. Since you know, FM T3 had all sorts of crazy…”

Shuttering about the events of Mt. Aktau that still sat prominently in her brain, Baleigh then nodded along with the others as Ms. Nicole passed the talking role to Vittoria next as the Goddess of Lighting took over.

“So, on my end, we just have to keep looking for those missing links between my wonderful little dragons in Norway and those cards that Lillie and Jessica talked about. The person I bought them from seemed to know a thing or two about dragonic legends so I’ve been visiting with them and surfing through their books and tomes as much as I can between my university classes. But yeah, I haven’t learned much yet sadly with it but we’ll get there. Eventually. Of course, I’ll let you know if I find anything.”

“Do you want any help? Maybe the energy of Thunder can find the similar energy signatures of the others or something?” Looking across the group and the table to the roma-tomato shaded Goddess, the newcomer offered her support to her teammate.

“That would be great, Lill! Thanks!”

“Of course, it will be fun. Reading old journals or whatever are kinda my whole thing… hahaha.”

Passing the conversation onto Delanie next, the Goddess of Accessories took over as her “two packets of natural-cane sugar and two small packets of half-and-half filled” medium coffee was finally settling in. Bringing her promptly out of the “grumpy and tired Delanie” and into the energy level of just her usual relaxed self.

“In terms of my things my dears, I’m just practicing with my new old chains since they are fully back and all that funness. Other than that, Harold and I went to Chicago last week to have some deep dish pizza, we saw a baseball team play and then ate some delicious hotdogs too. Oh wait, I also forgot that I’ve been playing with some new Accessories to try time-traveling but in a more sustainable and responsible vein. Like visiting places but not permanently changing the situation. More like a type of simulation there and then when you leave, you can decide if you want to change it permanently.”

“Interesting… anything else, Delanie?” responded Nathaly.

“No dearie, go ahead.”

“Thanks. So, in the world of Beauty, I’ve mainly been organizing my own little team to try and fight intergalactic and interdimensional tyranny. But I don’t want to pick a regular team and I don’t want you all for it, no offense. Obvio, we can team up if we need it but I want to give chances to some up and comers or maybe souls who need a second chance. You know?”

“I do and I love it,” added Baleigh, “is that all, Ms. Queen?”

“Si, todo bien.”

“Gracias mana, so… with me… I’m just gearing up for a new adventure of mine since you all, minus Lillie, made it abundantly clear what you preferred me to do with my newfound freedom and Goddess powers. I’m looking at you… Face.”

“You are dang right I said that and I would again. Onward Bales!”

“Hahaha thanks but anyways, yeah, I’m just prepping that new adventure ahead but it should be fun to see some other planets and the beautiful far ends and beyond. The Cosmos is a big place and all. Oh and speaking of Lillie earlier, you’re up!”

“Alright… well, since I’m new to this whole Goddess thing, there isn’t much to say for me right now. I don’t even have my powers yet…”

“Yeah but you do know that’s exactly why we called this meeting…,” smiled back her best friend sitting directly to her right.

“What do you mean?”

“Well… we got to get you your powers. You could communicate with us for a while now then we recently got you your teleportation which is obviously super cool but now, we got to take it a step further!!! So, are you ready to find just what kind of Goddess you are, Ms. Heir?!” Added in the happy and enthusiastic Baleigh.

“I am, let’s do it,” with her snow-white ones meeting Baleigh’s powerful eyes, the bond and agreement was sealed then and there.

“Great! So… meet me on Thursday at like 10 AM here. I got a mission for us that should unlock your powers… Don’t worry, it won’t be too dangerous! Not quite like mine… oooof. Hahahaha.”

Seeing them conclude it with a shared laugh amongst them all, the quick video came to an equally quick end as CJ’s manicured and well-moisturized left hand lightly guided the remote’s buttons towards the final project in the entire Crowopolis Falling storyline.

But before she could hit play, her eternal love sitting on her left side grabbed her left hand in movement and stopped it, along with all of life itself it felt like, with one simple and beautiful question.

“Soooooo… my beloved Clariette Jordan, want to get married?”

The End.
